Algoa Bay Council for the Aged was established in 1961 to coordinate services for older people in Port Elizabeth, now Gqeberha.
Social work services followed in 1966, and the city’s first service centre for older people opened in 1967. Today our work brings together housing, meals, practical care, social work and community connection.
Our current CEO is Mike Viviers. We are a registered non-profit organisation, NPO 003-491.
