Buffelsfontein Village:
is a 322 Unit low cost unsubsidised housing scheme. This facility accommodates 399 aged persons in self-catering units consisting of a one-bed cottage with a bathroom for couples and bed sitters with communal bathrooms for single persons. The majority of the residents are those with an income only of a state pension of R1750 per month.
The village is situated on the corner of 17th Avenue and Buffelsfontein Road in Charlo and is surrounded by an electrified fence with access control. The Eleanor Murray Service Centre comprising of a hall, kitchen, snooker room, library, hairdressing salon and a 2nd hand clothing and 2nd hand goods shop named Antiquity as well as Algoa Bay Head Office is situated centrally in the Village.
Almaza & Alamein Court:
In 2017 we received a donation of additional housing from the Ex-Servicemen’s League. We have taken ownership of Alamein Court, and await transfer of Almaza Cottages and Flats. Each of these facilities consist of 36 housing units providing affordable housing to older persons.
Applications are received from the entire Metro area and demand for accommodation is immense.
